About NorthShore Strings
Our Mission
At NorthShore Strings, we are dedicated to fostering a vibrant and diverse string music community. Through professional performances and expert instruction, we strive to support and inspire string players of all levels. Our focus extends beyond classical music to embrace rich traditions such as Celtic, Cajun, jazz, and bluegrass, ensuring a well-rounded and dynamic musical experience.
Our Founder: Annie Young-Bridges
An accomplished violinist and educator, Annie Young-Bridges founded NorthShore Strings with the vision of creating a space where string musicians can grow, collaborate, and celebrate diverse musical traditions. With years of experience as both a performer and teacher, Annie has made significant contributions to the music scene, mentoring countless students and bringing high-quality string performances to the North Shore area.
Her expertise spans multiple genres, allowing her to seamlessly blend classical training with folk traditions. Under her leadership, NorthShore Strings has become a hub for musicians who want to explore, refine, and share their craft.
A Collaborative Effort
While NorthShore Strings was founded by Annie, it is a collective effort led by a team of dedicated musicians. Madeline Hill and George Serban, accomplished performers and instructors in their own right, are key collaborators who help shape the organization’s artistic and educational vision. Additionally, Northshore Strings works closely with the Northshore Traditional Music Society. Together, they bring a wealth of experience in performance, instruction, and community engagement, ensuring that NorthShore Strings remains a dynamic and welcoming space for musicians of all backgrounds.
